Transactional Advising

Under the guidance of Law School faculty and staff, students participating in the transactional component of the Lindsay and Matt Moroun Religious Liberty Clinic counsel a wide variety of religious organizations. Our Clinic helps religious organizations navigate a variety of tax, corporate, transactional, employment, and other strategic matters.
The Clinic has counseled an array of religious organizations, including:
- religious bodies and houses of worship,
- domestic and international religious ministries,
- religious orders,
- religious healthcare organizations,
- religious schools and universities,
- religious nonprofit housing providers,
- faith-based trade associations,
- social welfare organizations, and
- for-profit benefit corporations.

Among other services, the Clinic has assisted these organizations by:
- forming new non-profit entities,
- drafting articles, bylaws, and corporate policies,
- securing tax-exempt status for religious non-profit organizations,
- advising on religious freedom implications on employment and governance matters,
- counseling on asset protection strategies, and
- drafting and reviewing contracts and grant agreements.
